Growing up, every girl dreams of that day, their own fairy tale wedding. The most amazing venue, surrounded by loved ones, the perfect man....and most essential of all, the perfect gown. At least that was my case.
To me, a wedding gown is more than just the dress you wear on that big they. Wedding gowns represents this state of serenity, joy and fulfillment. Your dress should reflect everything you feel on that day.
The past weekend in New York City, top designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2014 Collections during the semi-annual Bridal Market. After seeing the collections, I'm still wondering why there aren't other occasions where you can wear a wedding gown. In the meantime I give you my favorite styles from the collections I've seen so far....
Oscar de la Renta
Carolina Herrera
The Strapless
Although a common style, it seems like strapless wedding gowns never manage to disappoint. You can keep it simple through the entire gown or just a simple top part with an extravagant bottom part.
Marchesa
Monique Lhuillier
Oscar de la Renta
Lace Details
Lace details do not only look chic on a gown, but it also makes a gown timeless. Like shown in the pictures above, lace can be a great solution if you do not want a completely strapless dress.
Carolina Herrera
The Sleeveless
Using the same fabric throughout the gown, accentuating just the waist with lace details and volumizing the bottom are the details that makes this dress elegant while still keeping it simple.
